ACTIVITIES & TRANSFERS

We came up with the idea of the snow hotel during our student years. Ville was studying snow construction which gave us the inspiration to come together to build a business idea providing once-in-a-lifetime experiences. We immediately put our studies to good use, as within a year we were already celebrating the Grand Opening of the SnowHotel and welcoming our first guests.

Our business idea really took on fast, despite the fact that we were very young at the time. Our motto “Learn by doing” still holds strong to this day. Together we have grown with the company as entrepreneurs and a family.

We want to offer our customers unique experiences with snow and ice combined with exclusive accommodation alternatives. The idea for building the Glass Igloos came from us constantly striving to break away from the ordinary. Snow, ice and the Northern Lights can be viewed from the luxurious comfort of the Glass Igloos with their glass roofs, which was an element that suited us perfectly. The first Glass Igloos were completed for the 2014 winter season and nowadays we have 39 Glass Igloos.

Our service offering has also expanded and become much more diversified. We are now part of the Snowhotel Family that offers unique bucket list snow and ice experiences in three locations. In addition to the Arctic Snowhotel & Glass Igloos destination in Lehtojärvi, we now also offer experiences in the snow amusement park Snowman World and the experience restaurant Santamus in the Arctic Circle.

In this hectic and ever-expanding tourist industry, we want to emphasise eco-friendly values. All the materials used for constructing snow hotel are sourced from the local surroundings. For instance, the ice used in structures comes from the adjacent Lake Lehtojärvi. Tourism in Lapland is experiencing enormous growth, and we want to make sure we can provide a wide range of once-in-a-lifetime experiences with snow and ice also in the future for our Finnish and international customers. We are excited to see what future winters hold in store.
