Arctic SnowHotel, located in Rovaniemi Lapland, is one of the largest snow and ice hotels in the world and the only one in Finland. This stunning ice hotel opens for hotel guests annually on December 15th, with each year bringing a uniquely carved masterpiece. The walls and furniture in our ice hotel are beautifully adorned with ice art and illuminated artwork, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere.
Stay warm in the ice hotel even when it’s cold outside
The temperature inside the snow and ice hotel remains between 0°C and -5°C, ensuring a comfortable environment, even when it’s much colder outside. With our high-quality sleeping bags designed for extreme conditions, you can rest assured you’ll stay warm and cozy throughout the night. Please note that overnight stays are not recommended for children under 5 years old.

As our snow hotel guest, you can rest peacefully through the night knowing that our Northern Lights Watcher is keeping an eye on the sky for you. If the Auroras appear at their most beautiful, our staff will personally come to wake you up so you can step outside and experience the magic. No need to stay awake – we’ll make sure you don’t miss the show.

Snow hotel double suite (20m², Sleeps 2)

Snow hotel family suite (30m², Sleeps 6)
Perfect for families or small groups, the snowhotel family suite comfortably accommodates up to six guests. This spacious suite showcases stunning snow and ice craftsmanship, with sculpted walls and ice-carved bedframes, offering a magical atmosphere for your stay. The ethereal lighting enhances the enchanting décor, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
Snow hotel superior double room (15m², Sleeps 2)
The superior double room offers a cozy stay for two guests in a beautifully designed icy setting. Featuring snow-sculpted walls and ice-formed bedframes, this room provides an intimate, magical experience. Snow hotel superior triple room (15m², Sleeps 3)

Snow hotel superior family room (21m², Sleeps 6)
The superior family room is perfect for families or groups of up to six guests, offering a spacious, unique stay in a world of snow and ice. With snow-formed walls, ice-shaped bedframes, and beautifully placed lighting, this room provides a one-of-a-kind arctic escape, ensuring comfort and wonder throughout your stay.

Entrance to Snowhotel Lounge
As a snow hotel guest, you have access to the warm Snowhotel Lounge, designed to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The lounge offers a cozy indoor space with comfortable seating, toilets, locker rooms for changing and storing your belongings, and a vending machine with small snacks.
If the night in the snow hotel feels too exciting or uncomfortable at any point, you’re welcome to move to the Snowhotel Lounge, where beds are available for sleeping. The lounge is accessible throughout the evening and night, giving you peace of mind during your unique snow hotel experience.
Buffet breakfast
Buffet breakfast is always included in the price at the Arctic SnowHotel. Enjoy a rich buffet breakfast served in the Log Restaurant. There are options for every taste. If you have to leave before breakfast, you can ask the reception to take breakfast with you.
Aurora alarm
As our guest, you can sleep peacefully at night, because the Northern Lights Watcher will watch the night sky for you and come to wake you up when the Auroras in the sky are most beautiful.
Guided safety tour
When you check in at the Arctic SnowHotel, a guide will take you on a guided safety tour. During it, you will hear safety instructions and see where the different facilities are located. You will also receive instructions on how to comfortably stay in an ice hotel.
Wake-up service and hot juice
The stay includes a wake-up service: hotel guide wakes you up with a hot drink, which is served directly to the ice hotel room.
Diploma for the night spent
Diploma for overnight stays: After spending a night in arctic conditions in the middle of snow and ice, you will receive a certificate of your night at the Arctic SnowHotel as a souvenir.
Public Finnish sauna & showers
A traditional Finnish public sauna is included in your snow hotel stay. The public sauna is a mixed sauna, where guests use swimwear.
Showers and changing rooms are separate for women and men, and are located in the same building as the sauna. The sauna and showers are available daily in the morning and in the evening.
Towels are included.
Free entrance to all Arctic SnowHotel areas
Arctic SnowHotel is a travel attraction and destination, so when you stay overnight you get free access to explore the ice hotel. You can walk around the snowy corridors, admire snow and ice art, visit the Ice Restaurant and peek into the Ice Chapel. Don’t forget to also enjoy an iced drink in the Ice Bar!
Free entrance to Snowman World
If you’re looking for some snowy fun, head to Snowman World in Santa Claus Village. As an overnight guest, you get a free entry ticket to this snow-filled theme park (during theme park opening hours) featuring snow and ice slides, a fun snow labyrinth and a real ice skating rink.
Free winter activities on site
During your stay, you can enjoy several free winter activities at Arctic SnowHotel. One of our guest favourites is the large snow slide, perfect for a fun moment during the day or evening.
In winter, you can also borrow kick sleds and snowshoes free of charge. For a more relaxed moment, warm up by the fire in our cozy small Kota, or enjoy roasting marshmallows at the floating lean-to.
Important to know
The Arctic SnowHotel is open for visitors daily from 10:00 to 20:00. During these hours, all rooms are open for exploration, meaning no single room is reserved exclusively for overnight guests.
At 20:00, the Arctic SnowHotel closes to visitors, and our team begins preparing the rooms for overnight stays. Guests staying overnight will have exclusive access to their rooms from 21:00 onwards.
